Monitor: Alvaro Negredo

Manchester City continued to strengthen their squad this season by the addition of another forward: "Alvaro Negredo" from Spanish La Liga club Sevilla. Negredo has set his stamp on the La Liga and is well known as a proven goalscorer in Spain. His abilities earned him a place in the highly rated Spanish squad for Euro 2012 squad and made a couple of appearances.

Now that we are set to welcome him in the Premier League this season, let us see his prospects.

FTT Scout Player Report: From the scout's perspective, here is a brief description on him. He is a tall player with great finishing ability and is on the pitch just to score goals. Not only he has good finishing but his ariel abilities makes him a threat on set-pieces too. He is capable of leading the front-line alone and was played mostly as a lone striker in Sevilla.

Manchester City's squad consists of many talented players and no doubt Negredo has to fight for a place.

Edin Dzeko is a striker who has a similar style of play as Negredo. Comparatively, Negredo is much quicker which gives him an edge and we should expect Negredo to push Dzeko to the bench and lead the line. Another new signing Jovetic can also play as a striker but due to his versatility, we expect the manager to use him elsewhere and this could affect his FPL appeal.

Furthermore, there is Sergio Aguero who can play up-top or on the flanks and Pelligrini could in fact use him as a striker at times too. But there is still time and we have to watch out how the manager plans to use this team. We should be all set for the BPL Asia Trophy and see what roles the players get.

If Negredo manages to cement his place as a lone striker of Manchester City, 9.5 mil won't be a big deal for FPL managers and we would soon have him as a Hot FPL player!
